If the role interests you and you would like to be considered we encourage you to applyWe’re looking for 1 Finance Intern for the summer of 2026. The position will be a hybrid-based role where you will work remotely and join us at The Scotts Miracle-Gro corporate headquarters in Mississauga Ontario just west of Toronto. The hourly rate for this position at Scotts will generally fall between $19.00 - 23.00 per hour and is paid weekly.Our internship program is designed to cultivate the professional growth of students through a dynamic work environment. You will report to the Finance Manager. From Day 1, you will be an integral part of the team with expanding responsibility over the course of the internship. Over the course of 15 weeks you will work on meaningful projects and have opportunities to learn through coaching and mentorship from industry leaders. We are committed to your development but will also rely on you to bring new knowledge, new ideas, and innovation into our organization.ProjectsProfitability Analysis: Analyze the variance between budgeted and actual profitability for specific brands and/or business segments.Data Analysis: Identify financial trends and provide insights by comparing current performance against historical data and forecasts.Trade Programs Analysis: Evaluate the financial effectiveness of commercial spending by analyzing actual trade results against budgeted allocations.Leadership Presentation: The opportunity to present a final project presentation to leadership at the end of the internship program.Key ResponsibilitiesCost Center Analysis: Perform variance analysis of actual expenses against budgets and forecasts to identify and explain key drivers of spend.Trade Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis on trade programs, comparing actual promotional spend against forecasted levels.Sales Analysis: Analyze sales performance by comparing actual results to budget and forecast to highlight volume and price variances.Reporting Support: Monitor and participate in the preparation of financial reports that track performance against organizational targets.What you’ll need to be successful:Education: Currently pursuing a BA/BCOM degree or diploma in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.Communication: Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.Technical Skills: Experience using Microsoft Office (with a strong focus on Excel) and Google Suite.Organization: Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple projects, tasks, and priorities.Analytical Rigor: Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to identify insights and provide financial recommendations.Teamwork: Ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.Interest: Passion and interest in FP&A, Corporate Finance, and the CPG industry COME GROW WITH US, WHERE THE GRASS REALLY IS GREENERNot interested in this role?
