Subsea Project Engineer NSB Omega is searching for a Subsea Project Engineer for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in St. John's, NL. Assignment DescriptionKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:ONSHOREMember of the WAG Phase 2 Project Team, ensuring compliance with processes and priorities (The Client's Develop & Manage Projects Process (D&MP), Management of Change (MOC), business unit strategic planning, control of work requirements, etc.) and contract administration/stewardship throughout the 2027 WAG Phase 2 Project.Actively involved in the capture, management, incorporation and closure of opportunities, lessons learned and risks pertaining to the Project from planning through to execution and project closeout.Manage and respond to interfaces and coordinate work with other business unit functions (e.g. Marine and Aviation Operations, Asset Integrity, EH&S, Quality, Document Control, Risk, Regulatory, etc.) and external third parties, including installation contractors, equipment suppliers, regulator and certifying authority to support the planning, delivery and execution of the Project in accordance with the Client's Standards.Further develop and manage existing and potential / emerging project scopes.Assist with the development and issue of third-party scope of work packages, as required.Coordinate the preparation and delivery of project documentation to key stakeholders internally and externally, on all aspects of the Project, from detailed engineering through project closeout.Ensure the incorporation of industry best practices, particularly with respect to subsea construction/diving procedure development, with the aim of reducing cost/risk and improving performance while working within approved budgets and schedulesReviewing project and operations documentation in a timely manner as part of various engineering reviews, risk assessments/analysis, action closures and readiness reviews associated with the Project.Manage and coordinate an asset tracking and handover process with installation contractors, other business unit functions, external third parties, equipment suppliers, and storage facilities to support the safe delivery, traceability and handover of project assets between the Client's and installation contractors throughout the Project.Facilitate regular technical meetings with installation contractors and other technical interfaces as required throughout the Project.Liaise with Marine Warranty Surveyor, LR, CNLOER, OEM representatives and Dive Safety Specialists as required.Travel to third party sites in support of project delivery, including international destinations, as required.Ability to work remotely and also in an office environment locally in St. John’s, Newfoundland.Ability and willingness to participate in pre-work including equipment readiness checks, mock testing activities, vessel mobilization(s), and demobilization(s) as a Project Engineer.OFFSHOREAbility, willingness and certification to participate in all aspects of offshore execution onboard a dive support vessel or other project support vessel as required as a Client Representative for the Project.Ensure that Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) reviews and Safe Job Assessments (SJAs) are carried out and agreed prior to start of activities including liaise with the temporary field authority and/or FPSO OIM.Oversee all offshore activities to ensure compliance to approved procedures and industry best practicesDaily progress tracking/reporting to onshore project team.Advise Contractor regarding the client's logistics and in-field protocols including materials/personnel transfers, emergency response, iceberg management, close proximity operations, field entry and other general requirements. Ensure MOC process is followed, documented and signed off by appropriate levels of authority in accordance with project specific MOC guidance note.Travel RequirementsThis position will be primarily located in St. John’s NL and will require periodic travel to various local sites (marine base, contractor offices, etc.) and possibly other sites internationally leading up to the offshore execution phase (Q1 2026 – Q2 2027). Offshore travel is required to / from the Project (offshore Newfoundland, Canada) via in Q2/3 2027.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 5 years related oil & gas experience with preferred experience in subsea construction projects including Dive Support Vessels. Sound knowledge and experiences of subsea engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning activities, particularly pertaining to saturated diving, subsea structures and flexibles. Demonstrated experience as an offshore engineer or client representative during major subsea construction project(s).Demonstrated experience with adhering to industry standard project delivery models and associated project management systems such as EH&S, cost control, planning, quality, document control and management of change. Business management skills pertaining to project management, budgeting and stewardship.Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage and motivate external third parties, including consultants and sub-contractors, and support the interface with JV partners and regulatory bodies.Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills.Valid certifications for offshore, as required (e.g. East Coast Medical, Basic Survival Training (BST) c/w Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), First Aid, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS)).LocationSt. John's, NL
