Casual Patient Watch Security GuardPosition Details: Position: Casual Patient Watch Security Guard Site: Various Health Care Sites within St. John'sAveraging Agreement: Overtime as per CBA Hours: Hours may vary site to site (example Days, Nights, Rotating Shifts) Payrate: $ 19.00/hour Posting Date: January 5, 2026Internal Closing Date: January 31, 2026External Closing Date: January 31, 2026 Key responsibilities: Provide continuous observation of assigned patients to ensure safety and prevent self-harm or injury. Monitor and report any unusual behavior, incidents, or safety concerns to clinical and security staff. Maintain a respectful and non-invasive presence while observing patients. Work closely with healthcare professionals, following facility protocols and directions. De-escalate situations calmly and appropriately using non-violent crisis intervention techniques. Document observations and incidents accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. Prerequisites: Clean Letter of Conduct/VSC Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from CSA Approved provider. English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in security or a related field preferred. Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to stay alert and attentive for extended periods. Ability to work in high-stress environments and remain composed under pressure. Ability to stand or sit for long periods and respond quickly in emergency situations.
