We are a service-based organization made up of great people who work hard to get the job done and deliver excellence in the communities where we work and live.Description: ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Site Services department in Resolute Bay, Nunavut. The Mechanic is responsible for the repair, overhaul, maintenance and service of a wide variety of equipment.Working on a rotation of weeks on/ weeks off, with all travel paid.Responsibilities: Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services diesel powered vehicles, heavy trucks, heavy construction equipment, graders, dump trucks, and excavators Fabricates, constructs, installs, and repairs equipment and machinery Diagnoses equipment problems and determines repairs needed Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes May be called upon to operate other equipment Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required A valid class drivers license is required Strong analytical and problem solving skills Good verbal and written communications skills Able to manage time and make decisions in a fast paced environment Able to weld, gas and AC/DC is a strong asset Experience working in a remote environment is considered an asset Strong commitment to follow workplace safety requirements and procedures Able to perform a physically strenuous and demanding job lifting, pulling, etc. Must be prepared to work in extreme weather conditions Compensation: Wage starts at $/hour + opportunity for overtime % Vacation Pay Benefits (including dental) Pension Employee Share Purchase Plan Group RRSP We would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.
