We are a service-based organization made up of great people who work hard to get the job done and deliver excellence in the communities where we work and live.Job Description:ATCO Frontec is seeking a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Site Services department in Resolute Bay, Nunavut. The Mechanic is responsible for the repair, overhaul, maintenance and service of a wide variety of equipment.Working on a rotation of 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, with all travel paid.Responsibilities:Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services diesel powered vehicles, heavy trucks, heavy construction equipment, graders, dump trucks, and excavatorsFabricates, constructs, installs, and repairs equipment and machineryDiagnoses equipment problems and determines repairs neededDemonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processesMay be called upon to operate other equipmentOther duties as assignedQualifications:Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is requiredA valid class 3 driver's license is requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood verbal and written communications skillsAble to manage time and make decisions in a fast-paced environmentAble to weld, gas and AC/DC is a strong assetExperience working in a remote environment is considered an assetStrong commitment to follow workplace safety requirements and proceduresAble to perform a physically strenuous and demanding job i.e. lifting, pulling, etc.Must be prepared to work in extreme weather conditionsCompensation:Wage starts at $50/hour + opportunity for overtime6% Vacation PayBenefits (including dental)PensionEmployee Share Purchase PlanGroup RRSPWe would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.This position has been identified as safety sensitive and will require completion of a pre-employment alcohol & drug test, fit to work medical test and criminal record check.Final candidates will be required to undergo a Security Clearance Check.About Us:We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, always does what needs to be done, and loves the thrill and sense of accomplishment that comes with taking on new and meaningful work.
