Your Opportunity:The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is a pivotal member of the inter-professional team and works collaboratively with all disciplines. This advanced level Respiratory Therapist II position is responsible for performing to the highest standard specialized pulmonary diagnostic testing procedures including, pulmonary function testing, bronchial challenge testing, shunt studies, cardiopulmonary exercise stress testing (CPET), arterial blood acquisition/analysis; assist in Right Heart Catheterization procedures and deliver specialized inhaled nitric oxide; assist with Bronchoscopy procedures; support Tracheostomy clinic with trach changes, upper airway visualization and stoma care, and performs AADL Home Oxygen Challenge test in AADL clinic. Participates actively in the education of patients, students, staff, physicians, and self, responsible for ongoing quality assurance of testing results, as well as quality control and routine maintenance of the testing equipment. As the RRT II you will be expected to contribute to department process improvement; maintain your professional practice; advocate professionally and effectively for patients using the principles of patient and family centered care; promote a healthy, respectful, safe, and supportive work environment, and demonstrate accountability. Your demonstrated pattern of professional development; ability to work independently, coaching/teaching skills; flexibility and change management skills; analytical, problem-solving, conflict management, critical thinking and decision-making skills; ability to accurately collect and document information in a timely manner; effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; and ability to foster a climate of collaboration and build relationships within the interdisciplinary team are all ingredients to your success.Description: As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor and assess clinical services in your assigned area. You will act as a clinical resource for daily operations, coordinating the work of therapy assessment and treatment in your service area, and assist in the development of clinical protocols. You will develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans and monitor the progress of patients (clients, residents) receiving advanced respiratory treatment. You will identify new equipment requirements, and establish and maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area. You will be responsible for respiratory equipment, including but not limited to operation, procurement, maintenance, and quality assurance. You will participate in interprofessional patient, client or resident rounds, conferences and meetings where applicable. Required Qualifications: Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Connect Care, Ascent and Netcare. Completed site orientation to PLC. Current ACLS with expiry date. CRE/CAE/CTE certified.
