Responsibilities
Assist with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions Oversee the billing process, ensuring accuracy in client invoices and adherence to billing guidelines Oversee outstanding accounts and ensure timely follow-up on collections to facilitate prompt payment Maintain, monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process timely and accurately Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, conduct monthly expense reviews, and implement a financially conservative approach to identify areas for cost control and strategic decision-making Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with the Engagement Partner, and develop resolutions to resolve issues and errors Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes Cultivate strong working relationships with clients, collaborating with accounting and administrative teams to deliver exceptional client service Undertake any other related or ad hoc duties assigned by the Partner, with a view to delivering optimal service and addressing the client’s specific requirements.
Skills
and Experience Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting or finance Experience in a professional services firm is an asset Hold a college diploma or university degree in finance, accounting, economics or business administration A background in political science through academic training or practical experience is a strong asset for this role. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Experience working with cloud accounting software such as QBO Strong computer literacy, including effective working skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
