Reporting to the Project Manager, or their designate. The General Foreperson is responsible to manage and oversee all field construction among various trades on projects or across a portfolio of work including planning, organizing, directing and controlling various aspects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage and provide leadership for health, safety, environment, and quality programs and policies Assist Project Manager or Division Manager in the planning of assigned projects  Executes plan and evaluates schedules and site personnel to ensure project objectives are met  Provides leadership to Forman(s) and prioritizes work accordingly  Oversees site safety and quality control personnel  Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff  Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships  Monitor job costing, reporting, forecasting, and productivity  Oversee field administration: timesheets, project reports, and material purchases  Review work/contracts/WIP for areas of risk and correct deficiencies  Read and interpret reports, such as job cost, labour, projection sheets, and PO entries   Acts as brand ambassador for Black & McDonald  COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS Change Orientation (open to change and the ability to identify where it is needed and how to make ithappen)Communicates Effectively (verbally and in writing)Continuous Learning (ongoing effort to learn and contribute to the learnings of others)Customer Focus (understand the needs and perspectives of both internal and external customers)Holds Self and Others Accountable (take personal responsibility to meet commitments)Problem Solving and Innovation (ability to approach problems logically and seek innovative solutions)Teamwork and Collaboration (work cooperatively and collaboratively with others)Values and Respects Others (encourages and supports diversity)  WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 10+ years of field experience in Utilities/Construction  SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Advanced supervisory and leadership skills Advanced site safety supervision Ability to read drawings and project/structural design interpretation Proven planning and scheduling skills Contract Management Risk Management Dispute Resolution and Negotiation Skills Willing and able to travel to site Clean, Valid Drivers' License (Class 1 or 3 with Q endorsement considered an asset)Ground Disturbance Certification Construction Safety Certifications including the following are considered assets. Traffic Control Person (TPS) CertificationFlagging CertificationConfined Space Awareness/RescueFall ArrestWHMISFirst AidLeadership for Safety Excellence (LSE) Please be advised that a Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.
