Job DescriptionThe Imaging Assistant supports patient and procedural workflows in the Diagnostic Imaging department throughout their shift. This role contributes to both direct and indirect patient care by assisting technical and nursing staff—preparing patients, supporting transfers, facilitating patient flow, and maintaining exam rooms and supplies. The Imaging Assistant ensures safe, efficient, and patient-centered service while collaborating closely with technologists, radiologists, and other healthcare staff. This is what You’ll Be Doing:Patient Support & Workflow Monitor sub-waiting and stretcher holding areas, ensuring patients are in the correct queue and properly prepared for imaging. Provide exam preparation instructions when required and keep patients updated on expected wait times Assist technologists and sonographers during specific procedures  Act as a point of contact in the sub-waiting area, supporting patients with information and reassurance. Escort patients to other Diagnostic Imaging modalities if additional procedures are required. Guide patients to other modalities for intra-modality procedures.  Supply & Room Readiness Check and maintain supplies in all prep, procedure, and waiting areas Ensure phlebotomy carts are stocked and organized at the start of the day and replenished as needed. Prepare patient records including requisitions, protocol sheets, and other paperwork; coordinate with technologists/sonographers. Help prepare and organize Diagnostic Imaging documentation while assisting and coordinating with the technologist or sonographer in the assigned imaging area. Transport patient records within the department when requested. Clean and reset prep and procedure rooms between patients. After procedures, transport used carts to the soiled utility room, disinfect, and prepare them for next use. Clean, disinfect, and prepare ultrasound transducers following each use. QualificationsHalton Healthcare is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible.  High School Diploma requiredPrevious hospital experience within a Diagnostic Imaging DepartmentKnowledge of medical terminology requiredDemonstrates being patient focusedAptitude for working with delicate and heavy equipmentKnowledge of Meditech is an assetProficient in MS Office applicationsMust be physically able to perform the required tasks involving repetitive pushing and pulling and extensive standing and walking.Demonstrated ability to make quick assessments to solve minor problems and establish priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment.Self-motivated and able to work independently while also working effectively in a teamExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsSatisfactory employment and attendance record  Additional InformationHours: Monday to Sunday; Various rotating 7.5 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)Salary: $27.385 to $34.205 per hour Date Posted:  January 20, 2026Internal Applicants Due By: January 27, 2026REF3112UHalton Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer who is committed to integrating diversity, equity and inclusion throughout our operations, policies and culture.
