Description Highlights of the jobWeare hiring one (1) full-time, permanent Inventory Planner working out of Edmonton, AB.The Inventory Planner is part of the Supply Chain team in Electricity Operations. As the Inventory Planner, you would be accountable for the performance of day-to-day Inventory functions such as determining appropriate inventory levels, tracking material availability, replenishing stock items, designing and running reports as well as maintaining the item database.What you’d be responsible forDetermining appropriate inventory levels based on lead times, order quantity, future demand, safety stock, service levels, and inventory valueProviding input to Electricity Operations regarding inventory strategies and material availabilityDeveloping and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersIdentifying and resolving inventory issues, tracking material availability for projects and advising on material consumptionPlanning and analyzing inventory including incorporating trends, seasonality, forecasts, random variation when monitoring stock levels, and slow-moving inventoryAdjusting and/or calculating replenishment parameters to SKUCreating requisitions in Oracle; designing and running reports using Business Intelligence (BI) softwareAssisting in developing tactics and recommendations to optimize inventory value, minimizing stock outs, increase turns and reducing surplus.Working with internal stakeholders to gather information regarding material requirements and order accordinglyMaintaining/updating item database using Item Administrator guidelines.Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify and develop alternative or substitute materialsWorking with Accounts Payable and/or Procurement to resolve invoicing/shipment discrepanciesWhat’s required to be successfulDiploma or degreein Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, MIS, or Economics is requiredPMAC, SCMP or ASCM certification or designation is an assetMinimum of 1-3years of experience in material planning and/or forecasting, material replenishment or directly related experience in supply chain (other directly related experience may be considered).Demonstrable knowledge of inventory management principles, warehousing practices and proficiency with computerized inventory management systems.Past inventory, supply chain or relevant work experience in a utility company or large corporation similar to EPCOR is an assetProficient in MS Office suit (Word, Excel, Outlook,PowerPoint, Visio); experience with Access and Power BI is preferredProficient in Oracle or similarinventory software; ERP planning modules; Purchasing software; Business Intelligence or similar reporting softwareStrong understanding of basic statistics and modellingAbility to produce and analyze reports using Access, Microsoft Excel and WordExperience creating efficient supply chain management processes and proceduresAs the successful candidate, you are highly motivated, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and possess an ability to work effectively within a team dynamic. You are able to manage conflicting priorities throughout the day with minimal supervision and take initiative when completing tasks in a timely manner and to a high standard.
