Divisional Accountant (18 Months Contract) Brampton, ON Full-time $75000.00-$90000.00/year Who We AreEmterra Tire Recycling Ltd. is a proud division of Emterra Group and is a 100% Canadian, privately controlled company operating out of Brampton, Ontario. We haul and process used passenger, truck, industrial and agricultural tires. We are committed to preventing these end-of-life products from being disposed of in our landfills or littered on our natural landscapes. As a result of processing used tires, we have become a leading supplier of crumb rubber which can be transformed into many fantastic, recycled products, such as road asphalt, playgrounds, and synthetic turf.Our tire division is searching for an Accountant to join our accounting team on an 18 months maternity leave contract. The Accountant will prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, analysis and special projects.Position DescriptionManages and coordinates the overall financial administration of the assigned division(s).Preparation of large, detailed customer invoicesPreparation and submission of monthly financial statements with full analysis and commentary to Senior Staff.Variance analysis on income & expenses as support to the monthly financial Statements.Provide assistance to Manager as required to increase profitability of the division/company.Maintain accounting records within Business Central.Assists with month end close; Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and inter-company accounts.Assists regional controller with annual budget preparationAssists departmental assignments and supervises payables/receivables staffMentor/oversee clerical staff. Prepare performance reviewsWork closely with the management team by providing analysis to improve efficienciesEnsure billings are completed in a timely & accurate mannerResponsible for producing monthly financial statements & associated variance analysis for the divisionFull cycle accounting duties – bank reconciliation, fixed asset recording, account analysis, allocations, inter company transactions, HST filing, budget, year end working papersMonthly & annual reporting for our industryPartner with GM and provide any assistance neededStrong excel skills requiredMaintain/oversee timely vendor invoice processing and perform/oversee customer collectionsMaintain positive relationships with all staff, vendors, clients and municipal government contacts.Maintain and create production/statistical databases/Excel tables.Ad Hoc reporting.
