The Accountant position will be responsible for accounting, coordination and compilation of audit requests, analysis, and financial reporting, as required. This role will assist in the preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, accrual management, profit and loss analytics, statement of cash flow analysis (if applicable), and standardized month-end journal entry processing under IFRS and other reviews of financial data. Responsibilities Actively participate in the roles assigned relating to monthly, quarterly and annual close process and ensure assigned tasks are completed timely and accurately, including journal entries and ledger maintenance activities. Complete assigned schedules, including workpapers, ensuring relevant account reconciliations are completed timely and accurately. Reconcile related party invoices, including timesheet consumption reporting and ensure supporting documentation is obtained. Prepare capital call requests to shareholders and reconcile capital accounts. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by direct supervisor or his/her designee. Qualifications Education/Experience – Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, either in-progress or designated, OR legacy Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified General Accountant designation (CGA). A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience working within an accounting department (public practice, from a mid-tier or Big 4 CA/CPA firm); High level proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel; and Previous experience successfully handling multiple projects simultaneously. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities – Excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented and highly organized. Experience working in a fast-paced environment; and Ability to manage time and work under tight deadlines. Physical Requirements: Three days of the week will be working in-person, in office in the Calgary downtown core. The remainder of the work week will be remote or in the office at the employee’s discretion.
