About the Opportunity Within their scope of practice and in collaboration with patients and the health care team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides care for patients with defined health challenges and predictable outcomes. As the acuity or complexity increases and/or outcomes are not predictable, the LPN, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse provides nursing interventions, within their scope of practice as described in the LPN Act and Regulations and LPN Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. The Registered Nurse is accountable for creating the plan of care, that assignment of patients and delegating selected nursing functions to the LPN. The LPN is accountable for individual actions or practices within their scope of practice, including the acceptance of delegated functions and for decisions and actions taken in the provision of nursing care. About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Graduate of a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing course and current certification in Nova Scotia Recent experience administering medications and/or a pharmacology course is required CPR certification Ability to follow verbal and/or written instructions Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and as part of a team Experience working in a team environment Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.Hours Long Assignment, Full-Time / 75 Hours Bi-Weekly January to January , approximately 12 months Compensation and Benefits $31.73 - $35.81 Hourly $37.06 with 25 years of LPN experience Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
