We provide students with the foundations to build a rewarding career in one of the largest sectors of the Canadian economy – the construction industry.The OpportunitySAIT's School of Construction is recruiting for 2 temporary salaried instructors to provide academic leadership and instruction to Pipe Trades apprenticeship & Pre-Employment students and ensure they achieve established learning outcomes. Reporting to the Academic Chair, you will create a learning environment that is technically supported and innovative in nature. Additionally, you will utilize current information and communication technology in the development and delivery of course content. Look forward to a rewarding position where you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students and support lifelong learning. You must be able to demonstrate excellence in your communication skills, organizational skills and have the ability to function in a collaborative team environment.Note: SAIT, as a post-secondary institution, serves a diverse student population. Therefore, instructional duties may occasionally be required during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If selected, specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader.The RoleEducate students utilizing existing curriculum resources and utilize a variety of instructional techniques to promote learning and personal developmentCreate teaching and learning plans, course maps, course materials, exams, quizzes, presentations and assessments in support of learning objectivesPrepare additional study and lab materials for learnersEvaluate student progress and achievementProvide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learnersDemonstrate personal interest in the success of the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learningParticipate in promotional activities such as SAIT’s Open HousePerform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its studentsQualifications & ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience as a Journeyperson in a variety of installation and service environments is desiredMinimum Alberta Journeyperson Certificate and Red Seal in Plumbing/GasFitting/SteamFittingPrior teaching or training experience in adult education is an assetEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and presentation softwareStrong communication and human relations skills with the ability to convey the conceptual and practical aspects of subjects to students, respecting their diverse backgrounds, experience and individual learning stylesAbility to work well within a team environment and participate in a consultative decision-making process Commitment to ethical behavior Job Classification: INSTRUCTOR - S4001Salary Range: $90,588 - $94,226# of positions: 2Start Date: February 16, 2026Contract End Date: June 30, 2026Posting Closing Date: January 2, 2026 at 4:00pmAbout SAITSAIT is a global leader in applied education.
