Job DescriptionAECOM Buildings + Place, is seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Structural Engineer to help lead buildings projects commercial, institutional,  and industrial facilities, such as Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and Sewage Lift Stations) This position can be based out of the Winnipeg office with opportunities for hybrid work. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Municipal, Commercial, Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.  Major Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:Lead and contribute to the successful design, production, coordination and management of structural building designsIndependently perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.Communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with clients and internal team members in the development of designs and preparation of technical specifications of structural building systemsPrepare structural analysis and calculation reports.Coordinate with other business lines and engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project execution.Conduct reviews to ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, analysis) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practicesAssist in organizing and maintaining structural design guidelinesProvide engineering support and supervision to EIT’s, Technologists, Technicians and CAD/REVIT staff.Review of shop drawings for structural adequacy and compliance with structural drawingsCarry out business development activities including client liaison, proposal preparation and promotional workPrepare or assist in preparation of engineering fee estimates for bids and proposal on structural engineering.Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate structure’s conditions and provide recommendations.Ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectationsStay updated on codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:In order to be considered for this position, candidates must meet the requirements below, at a very minimum: Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering and Six (6) years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Manitoba in good standing.Holding security clearance or the ability to obtain secret level security clearance Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must.Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).Preferred Qualifications10+ years of experience in structural engineering after receiving  P.Eng., including demonstrated leadership in design delivery.Experience in IPD (Integrated Project Delivery)Experience in structural design of industrial plants, commercial buildings, government facilities, municipal infrastructure, and transit stations.Proficiency in 3D structural analysis, modeling, and design software including but not limited to ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE,  as well as other computer-aided design tools relevant to this role.Proven expertise in applying all major structural design codes and standards, including in-depth knowledge of NBCC, MBC, and CSA S16, CSA A23.1, CSA A23.3, CSA S304, CSA O86, AISC 360, ACI 350, ACI 318, etc.Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently.Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-taskingAdditional InformationCompany paid relocation is not available for this position.Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this positionOccasional business travel within Manitoba and in Western Canada  may be required.About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
