Opportunities for career growth.ResponsibilitiesLead and contribute to the successful design, production, coordination and management of structural building designsIndependently perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures in accordance with relevant codes and standardsCommunicate effectively (verbal and written) with clients and internal team members in the development of designs and preparation of technical specifications of structural building systemsPrepare structural analysis and calculation reportsCoordinate with other business lines and engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project executionConduct reviews to ensure that engineering deliverables (drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, analysis) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practicesAssist in organizing and maintaining structural design guidelinesProvide engineering support and supervision to EITs, Technologists, Technicians and CAD/REVIT staffReview shop drawings for structural adequacy and compliance with structural drawingsCarry out business development activities including client liaison, proposal preparation and promotional workPrepare or assist in preparation of engineering fee estimates for bids and proposals on structural engineeringConduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate structure’s conditions and provide recommendationsEnsure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectationsStay updated on codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure high-quality design solutionsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in structural engineering and six (6) years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Manitoba in good standingHolding security clearance or the ability to obtain secret level security clearanceAbility to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedulesGood written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential)Preferred Qualifications10+ years of experience in structural engineering after receiving P.Eng., including demonstrated leadership in design deliveryExperience in IPD (Integrated Project Delivery)Experience in structural design of industrial plants, commercial buildings, government facilities, municipal infrastructure, and transit stationsProficiency in 3D structural analysis, modeling, and design software including ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, and other CAD tools relevant to this roleProven expertise in applying major structural design codes and standards (NBCC, MBC, CSA S16, CSA A23.1, CSA A23.3, CSA S304, CSA O86, AISC 360, ACI 350, ACI 318, etc.)Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independentlySelf-motivated, detail oriented and able to multi-taskAdditional InformationCompany paid relocation is not available for this positionSponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this positionOccasional business travel within Manitoba and in Western Canada may be requiredCompensationOffered rate of compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
