Job SummaryOrganizational StatusThe Lab Assistant will report to the PI, Dr. Lacey Samuels.Work PerformedCleans and sterilizes glassware.Performs laboratory clean up tasks.Assists in basic maintenance of lab teaching equipment.Assists in stocking supplies and updating inventory.Assists in routine sorting of samples.Prepares media and other simple preparation tasks.Carries out any other related duties as required in keeping with the qualifications and requirements of positions in this classification.Consequence of Error/JudgementAll work being done will be under close supervision by the Principle Investigator, and all decisions about experimental procedures will be made in cohort with the Principle Investigator.Supervision ReceivedAll work being done will be under close supervision by the Principle Investigator, and all decisions about experimental procedures will be made in cohort with the Principle Investigator.Supervision GivenNone.Minimum QualificationsHigh school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one’s own- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusionPreferred Qualifications
