Client Portfolio ManagerLocation: Hybrid, QuebecEmpire Life is looking to hire a Client Portfolio Manager to join our Investments teamWhy pursue this opportunityOur mission - Provide expertise and intelligent solutions to help Canadians navigate life with confidence.The role - this is a new position and your chance to join a growing team, while being provided the opportunity to make an impact. Play an integral role - this is an opportunity that allows for you to grow your skills, while directly contributing to the business unit you are a part of.What you’ll be working onProvide leadership and insight by effectively collaborating with our Distribution Partners and our sales team on Empire Life funds and performanceRepresent the investment strategies by maintaining a strong understanding of the team holdings, portfolio activity, performance analytics and positioningEnsure Empire Life’s Investment strategies are effectively represented in the marketplaceProactively partner with Empire’s sales team to ensure a high degree of engagement with our most significant clientsCollaborate with Product Managers and the Investment Management team to maintain brand integrity across all channelsDevelop and deliver presentations, market data research, and competitive analysis; provide guidance and feedback to the Investment Team members on presentations including content, positioning, tone and audience factorsReconcile and measure returns against benchmarks and third party performanceConduct due diligence and monitor activities of the Empire Life portfolio to determine performance and make recommendations to the Investment TeamMonitor significant events such as changes in market conditions, government regulations, etc. and develop a risk assessment planBuild and maintain strong relationships with Sales Leadership and Sales teamsAct as the primary contact for Investment Team requests, such as information and speaking engagements; ensure resources, information and messages are communicated in an efficient and effective mannerEnsure that relevant investment insights of the portfolio management team are delivered internally and externally in a timely manner via national conference calls, sales team meetings, videos, blogs and other mediaPartner with the Marketing team to ensure the correct editorial approach is takenProvide leadership, in conjunction with the CIO with respect to business plans for the team’s investment disciplines Share the responsibility with the Investment Analytics team to effectively oversee brand integrity across all channels and geographiesRespond to investment-related questions from internal and external sourcesSupervise, coach and mentor team members; identify employee training and development needs; participate in the hiring and employment processes for team members; set employee goals and objectives, manage employee performanceWhat we’re looking for you to haveBilingualism (French & English) is required10+ years work experience as a Portfolio Manager or Representing Portfolio ManagersChartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designationDemonstrated experience effectively engaging InvestorsKnowledge of bonds, equities, money market and currenciesStrong understanding of industry, competitors, investment management principlesCompletion of a University degreeProven due-diligence experience is essentialAbility to build and maintain strong relationships Well-developed ability to deliver presentations to a diverse audienceWell-developed communication, negotiation, and persuasion skillsWell-developed strategic planning capabilityAbility to translate research and data into sales ideasEnglish is required for communicating with English speaking customers, advisors, or employees across Canada.Beyond the salaryFor regular full-time positions, Empire Life offers a comprehensive total rewards package that includes:Competitive salaries with annual pay increasesAnnual bonus program, which recognizes both strong company performance and individual contributions, for non sales positionsCompetitive uncapped commission, for sales positionsA comprehensive employer-funded benefits package starting from day one of employment, that includes life insurance, disability, health and dental and a generous health accountFlexible work arrangements and an annual allotment of personal health days.Four weeks annual vacation from hire dateA defined contribution pension plan with generous employer matchingTop up programs for parental leave and compassionate leaveEmployer-sponsored wellness and recognition programsA cash employee referral program
