Working day-to-day with the project team, this role is responsible for all aspects of the construction process and for the successful completion of construction projects, including safe execution of work completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality.Reporting to: Director, OperationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for all aspects of project start up, including but not limited to, finalizing Prime Contract, conducting project startup meetings and prepare project execution plan, resource and staffing plans, and procurement managementWorking with the Estimating and Business Development teams to pursue and secure workInitiate and maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential clients, consultants, and trade partners.Recognize opportunities for business that may arise in secondary areas of focus: self-perform concrete, metal building solutions, metal cladding solutions, solar and energyResponsible for all aspects of financial management strategyManagement of site Safety, Quality Control and Communications planCreate and manage project scheduleChair meetings, issue minutes and follow up on action itemsTrack productivity and performance of the projectManage stakeholder expectationsResponsible for all aspects of project close out including training, inspections, turn over and warrantySupporting business development activities by maintaining long lasting relationships with clients, the design community, engineers and other organizations which enhance future business development opportunitiesResponsible for Coaching, mentoring project team members, including superintendents, and assisting in developing a diverse team to ensure Clark Builders is creating growth opportunities to achieve both individual and corporate goals and objectivesSkills and Knowledge:Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsAnalytical thinker with ability to interpret complex information and recommend innovative solutionsPromote Clark Builders through Community involvement and activitiesCapable of making complex, ambiguous and risk adverse decisionsProactive approach to prevention and resolution of conflictsAbility to identify, assess and manage risks while striving to meet objectivesLead and develop company initiatives with respect to industry technology, innovations, and processes to ensure Clark Builders maintains its position as an industry leader in constructionAbility to support our estimating team in Northern Alberta by providing expertise in preparing small and unique estimates that are tailored to the requirements of different clients, within the context of a smaller office environment Innovative individual who is willing to assist inexperienced Consultants and Owners in successfully initiating their projectsDesire to explore alternative opportunities that may not align with Clark Builders' usual pursuits in other locations.Qualifications:Bachelors' degree, diploma or 2-year certificate in a construction related discipline10+ years’ experience working as a Project Manager, managing the construction of Commercial, Industrial, or Institutional buildingsExperience with various types of construction contractsExperience managing the entire construction process from startup to closeout on a variety of project sizes and complexitiesUnderstanding the principles of Lean thinking, collaborative planning, and continuous improvementExperience with Last Planner® System an assetExperience with Procore® Construction Management Software an assetReady to build your career with us?
