About the Opportunity The Product Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the Dartmouth General Hospital OR’s have the right supplies when needed. Provides leadership to OR supply inventory management, identifies opportunities that may exist for standardization and reviewing budgets and costs to identify opportunities that will help address our deficit in collaboration with key stakeholders i.e. nurses, physicians, managers, Materials Management Department. Under the direction of the OR Manager, the Product Coordinator is responsible for the management of supplies and equipment for the Operating Rooms at the DGH site.
In addition to the co-ordination and evaluation of all new supplies, the coordinator is responsible for contributing to business case justifications, identifying standardization opportunities (while balancing clinical requirements) and ensuring appropriate person centered health care is met. The Product Coordinator is responsible for the direct supervision and management of Supply Technicians in the ORs.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Undergraduate degree from a health care profession program or equivalentRegistered Nurse with a minimum five years O. R. experienceRegistration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia, or eligible for registrationLeadership/management experience an assetAbility to influence others in adapting to changeWork cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environmentDemonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills including proven communication and time management. Strong analytic skills ie financial analysis related to purchase of new productExhibits creative problem solving ability and willingness to consider uncharted or novel ideas related to trends in health careMust understand basic budgeting and fiscal management principles and processes. Sound knowledge base of vendor/buyer guidelines and protocols.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook. Ability to supervise staff in an unionized environment.
