Position Title: Produce Clerk - Part Time Position Type: Part time Job Requisition ID: 45095 Banner: Metro Employment Type: Permanent This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $16.60 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement. Become a brand ambassador and share your passion for food with our customers Our Produce team is fundamental to Metro’s overall success with a focus on always fresh, in stock, and up to standards. The Produce Clerk is responsible for the preparation of produce products for retail display and sale to customers in a safe and sanitary manner. They are also involved in servicing Metro’s customers in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner If you are interested in assisting customers and are passionate about the food industry the produce department is waiting for you General Qualifications Customer service driven Able to stock merchandise and create displays Good product knowledge and attention to detail Retail experience considered an asset Able to stand for long periods of time Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends The responsibilities and relationships assigned to this role may change as is necessary to achieve Metro's business objectives.
