Under the direction of the instructor(s), responsibilities include:Assist students with off campus and in class assignmentsModel work skills and work-related behavior at the work site and provide job coachingAssist individuals or small groups with various learning assignments, including a tutoring following the instructional plansArrangement and supervision of work placements which may be on or off campus Qualifications Social Service Worker Certificate or equivalent/related educational background along with experience in the field of adult special education. In addition, the incumbent will possess:Client-oriented with knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusionStrong organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skillsThe ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with students and recordsInitiative and ability to work well without supervisionAn attitude and philosophy which will promote and foster independence in students A valid BC Driver’s license and have the use of a vehicleAbility to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the Indigenous communities, is an assetExperience with distributed learning formats as well as knowledge with relevant technologies is an asset
