The Manager, Client Accounting will also support the Director, Client Accounting in meeting the various objectives of the Client Accounting Department and projects. Planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of daily operations are part of the daily tasks of the Manager, Client Accounting. This is a fast-paced environment and it is essential the Manager, Client Accounting have excellent time management and organizational skills. We are looking for a true professional; someone that has demonstrated the ability to build and manage effective teams through training, assessment, empowerment, and constructive feedback. Duties & Responsibilities LeadershipLead a Client Accounting team of 7-8 associates to ensure timely and accurate preparation of client financial statementsBuild and maintain a culture of service excellence, with a focus on responsiveness and accuracy Client AccountingBuild an efficient and scalable team structure that leverages technologyEnsure that all deadlines are met in relation to monthly and annual financial statements, budgets and auditsBe a financial knowledge and thought leader providing: i) training to new condo managers and directors as appropriate and ii) sound financial analysis and advice to client. Be the face of client accounting for clients and staff.Support and drive client budgeting process in partnership with the management teamAttend client board meetings as requiredLead and support onboarding of new clients to support client retentionReview monthly client financials and budgets on a rotating basis with priority given to “watchlist” clientsManagement of “watchlist” clients in conjunction with the Director, Client AccountingMaintain an ongoing awareness of the regulatory environment and issues that could affect our business modelMaintain strong control environment and be open to process change, evaluating opportunities for continuous improvement Finance transformationSupport the Director, Client Accounting in the timely and effective delivery of improvement initiatives and projectsResponsible for the maintenance and enforcement of accounting policy and procedure manuals, including relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Education & Experience Accounting degree/diploma Accounting designation (or working towards) (CPA) is preferredMinimum of 8 years’ experience in an accounting departmentIdeally 3 + years of management / supervisory experience Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies Full cycle accounting, including variance analysis, GL analysis, and timely completion of reporting packagesCoordination of annual financial statement audits and budgetsStrong leadership and team building skillsA well-organized team player who works with a sense of urgency   Passionate about customer satisfactionExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal)Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skillsSkilled in conducting hand-on training, and informal coaching for direct reportsProficiency in analyzing and organizing data in Microsoft ExcelExperience with Yardi Compensation Compensation for this role is between $80,000 - $90,000 + benefits Disclaimer The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
