Responsibilities Review production processes, systems, and procedures with the intent of promoting a culture of continuous improvementMake recommendations and implement continuous improvement programs for production processes, as well as processes that are upstream from productionMonitor market for production and associated technology innovations and make upgrade recommendations to management when necessaryAssist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of management controls systems focusing on improving efficiency, reducing waste and minimizing costAssist with the continuous improvement of quality control procedures to resolve production quality challengesConduct workflow and time studies to optimize production throughput, capacity and personnel requirementsDevelop and maintain KPIs relating to production quality and efficiencyHelp develop and manage process documentation and share production efficiency analyses with operations as needed Technical RequirementsBachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related engineering disciplineStrong knowledge of production machinery, processes, automation and standardsProficiency in programs such as Microsoft Office 365, 3D Building Information Modeling (“BIM”) software such as Tekla Structures, with exposure to other engineering related Manufacturing Resource Planning (“MRP”) software being an assetPrevious experience or co-op placement in precast concrete considered a definite assetBusiness RequirementsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to drive process optimization and efficiencyEffective project and time management, cost analysis and budgeting to help drive profitablyTechnical proficiency with a strong understanding of engineering principles and technical knowledge related to automated and semi-automated manufacturingAbility to work both independently and within a team environmentDesire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environmentCultural RequirementsAbility to work productively with a unionized, hourly workforce in a plant environmentMajority of time will be spent working in a manufacturing facility Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders of diverse backgrounds & disciplines, including various levels of managementA team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others to improve existing processesAs a member of the OSCO Construction Group, PreCon offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
