The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile/ complex fast-paced environment.   The Manager will lead procurement activities for AOG events, ensuring rapid sourcing and delivery of critical aircraft parts to minimize operational disruptions. This role requires agility, regulatory compliance, logistical expertise, and strong supplier engagement.    Responsibilities: Actively pre-plan, negotiate, and manage the best option available to support WestJet’s Aircraft material & tool requirements during AOG events Manage a team working 24/7/365 and be available to support the AOG team as required Responsible to proactively train and support AOG team Responsible to ensure material managed by the team is managed throughout WestJet’s international and domestic network to support AOG and MEL (Minimum Equipment List) requirements while complying with airline regulations. Ensure expectations and communications from MCC (Maintenance Control Centre) are clearly understood and relayed to AOG team Responsible to support, monitor and expedite open AOG and MEL orders from suppliers to ensure Maintenance delivery dates are met Create best practices for purchase, loan, and exchange orders in accordance to company policies, quality assurance requirements, and documented procedures Ensure all Dangerous Goods procedures are considered in accordance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Guidelines and IATA Dangerous Goods Shipping Requirements Prepare reports and metrics to monitor active and completed AOG demands and KPI’s Responsible to review vendor competencies and evaluate service opportunities Maintain compliance with SMS policies and aviation regulations during expedited sourcing.   Professional Qualifications: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership position Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a buying, logistics or supply chain position or 3 years in the airline industry Must have at minimum a diploma from a college or Technical School Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required Purchasing or Inventory management designation is an asset Knowledge of aircraft parts an asset Experience in a procurement related role an asset Experience with Trax/eMRO would be considered an asset Experience with Illustrated Parts Catalogue, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and MEL’s would be considered an asset IATA Dangerous Goods Certificate or Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate is an asset Ability to multi-task and make decisions in fast-paced, stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and respectful work environment Superior decision-making and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational, time management and prioritization skills, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines   The benefits of being a WestJetter:   WestJet provides all WestJetters with a competitive total rewards package.  On top of that, we offer:    A fun and friendly culture with colleagues who work together to win   Travel privileges for you and your family, effective from your start date Savings and Benefit programs that are flexible to meet your specific needs
