Description Roles and responsibilities:Lead and mentor the buying team, setting clear goals and performance expectationsDevelop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectivesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., planning, finance, operations) to plan purchasesAnalyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunitiesUse ERP systems (IFS) and procurement tools to track orders and generate reportsDrive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsivenessIndependently carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFQs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.Drive actions to mitigate potential delivery delays by identifying risks, performing root cause analysis and development of recovery plans to bring shipments back in-line with customer requirements.Coordinates all activities related to procurement beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.Manages the release of RFQ’s and PO’s in accordance with company and government regulations.Negotiates the lowest possible cost balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.Assures material is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of thecompany.Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention ofrecords.Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirementsOther duties as assigned.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field10+ years of experience in supply chain or procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleStrong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skillsProficiency in supply chain software (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle)Excellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesProven track record of managing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced environmentSupply chain experience for an aerospace and/or Defense Company.Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment. Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 5+ years related experience or an Associate Degree in a related field and 1+ years in a leadership role.
