This role is anticipated to start as soon as possible until approximately the end of August. Perfect for a student looking for summer employment. The successful candidate will assist in the production of precast concrete products. You will work a dayshift schedule Monday to Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm, with overtime offered as needed to meet business demand. On-the-job training is provided in a friendly, team minded environment. Your day at Barkman may include: General heavy labour work in a precast concrete facility. Assembly, preparation and dismantling of concrete forms. Mixing, pouring, and spreading of concrete materials. Using various hand tools such as saws and pneumatic tools. Focus on maintaining quality workmanship. Physical activities include walking, standing, kneeling, bending, lifting (up to 50lbs), reaching, using arms/hands to operate equipment. Required to wear a hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection at all times and a respirator (which requires an employee to be clean-shaven) when needed for specific jobs. Following Safe Work Procedures and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have: Ability to work well in a team environment. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. The wage range for the position is $18-$20 per hour, and will be dependent on education, skills, and experience.
