FGI group of companies has over 500 employees with locations across Canada.With over 100 years of service under our belt, we are always expanding and looking for talented and motivated people to join our team and help with our continued success Joining FGI means being part of a forward-thinking team shaping the future of the transportation industry.Our THUNDER BAY BRANCH has an exciting opportunity for a SHIPPER/RECEIVER to join our teamWhat You Will Do:The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, packing and shipping orders, managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. You will work with your branch team members to deliver a high-quality customer experience that exceeds customer expectations through the following tasks:Accurately receive incoming product and match the quantity of items received to the shipping documentsPrepare shipping documents for outbound productsPackage, label, and ship customer orders, verifying order accuracy before shippingInspect stock items for wear or defects and report any damaged or missing stock to management.Replenish inventory items in designated warehouse storage binsCross train with delivery driver role to assist branch operations as neededMay receive, sort, and organize worn brake shoe cores for shipping to our remanufacturing facilityMay secure cargo to a vehicle (manual or forklift)Other duties as assignedWhat We Require:Must have 1 year of general warehouse experience, shipping and receiving, or order picker experience using an RF Scanner or barcode gun, combined with a high school diploma or other equivalency certificateA valid driver’s license and a recent driver’s abstract demonstrating no major infractions and minimal minor infractions, as defined by Company standards is requiredMust be comfortable working in a dusty and dirty environment with repetitive lifting of 20-25 lbs.Must be able to meet the physical requirements: Lift up to 75-100lbs, frequent standing and walking, reading small print and numbersExperience operating a forklift, using a RF scanner and familiarity with aftermarket parts or heavy-duty parts is preferred but not requiredOccasionally required to work Saturdays and overtime to meet business demandsProficient with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipmentExcellent customer service skillsStrong communication skills, including both written and verbalTeam-oriented, adaptable, with a commitment to safety excellenceWhat We Offer:Competitive Wages -PLUS Yearly bonusGreat Benefits -Health, Dental, Vision, and much, much moreRRSP MatchingHealth Spending Account – up to $500 per yearPaid sick days and Short-Term Disability BenefitsDiscount on gym membershipRetirement PerksAnd an overall great place to beFort Garry Industries welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
