Full-Service Project Management from Concept to Completion

This is not a corporate HR role buried in policies. This is a hands-on HR position where you handle everything from recruiting to onboarding to compliance. If you can’t manage multiple tasks at once or if you need constant supervision, this role won’t fit you.

Recruitment & Hiring
Full-cycle recruiting for carpenters, laborers, subcontractors, and office roles.
Draft job postings, screen candidates, and schedule interviews.
Build proactive pipelines (trade schools, job boards, groups).

Prepare employment contracts, onboarding checklists, and orientation materials.
Ensure all certifications and training documents (e.g., Maintain organized digital records for all employees and subcontractors.

HR Compliance & Policies
Maintain the employee handbook and update policies as laws change (Ontario employment standards).
Track attendance, vacation, overtime, and disciplinary notes.
Make sure the company is compliant with ESA, AODA, and health & safety requirements.
Coordinate with external advisors on any HR/legal issues.

Payroll Support & Admin
Coordinate payroll inputs: hours, overtime, vacation, and deductions.
Verify timesheets and get approvals from supervisors.
Work with the accountant/bookkeeper to ensure accurate payroll runs.
Maintain confidential employee data.

Employee Relations
Support performance reviews and probation evaluations.
Manage terminations professionally and according to ESA rules.

Safety & Training Support
Maintain training logs, certifications, and expiry dates.
Support the safety coordinator or external consultant during inspections.

3–5 years of HR experience (construction or trades is a strong advantage).
Experience hiring trades and field staff.
Solid organizational skills—you must keep documents and deadlines tight.
Good written communication—contracts, policies, and job posts.
Ability to work independently without constant direction.
Experience with HR software or payroll systems.
Knowledge of WSIB, health & safety, and subcontractor onboarding.
Experience working with small construction companies.
Salary: CAD 65,000–80,000 depending on experience.
Paid vacation + statutory holidays.
Optional performance-based bonuses.
