Hiring an experienced Fibre Optics Technician full-time (40 hours per week) at Finest Telecommunications Inc.(FTI) in London, Ontario. FTI is a full telecommunication infrastructure solutions provider with a full competent staff of experienced fibre technicians capable of handling end-to-end solutions in the Fibre Optic Network offering the following services: OSP (Outside Plant) Construction Build Design Fusion Splicing Fibre Optic Cable Performance Testing ISW (Inside Wiring) Job duties and responsibilities include: Installing of fibre optical equipment and cables at various building types including residential and commercial sites. Splicing fibre optic cables of different types and sizes at various weather conditions including indoor and outdoor locations. Responding to and resolving any issues that may arise during the installation and/or operation. Directional and uni-directional fibre optic tests using various OTDR and Power Meter Testing machines. Performing high quality workmanship and taking all necessary precautions to prevent service disruptions. Reading and interpreting the engineering drawings and different fibre counts Operating and understanding all products and services required in any applicable operation. Identifying and correcting issues in a safe and secured manner. Troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs. Maintaining work records and all related documents. Testing, evaluating and diagnosing equipment that requires servicing. Completing any operation in the required standard to qualify passing any quality inspections. Carrying out any applicable mechanical and physical installation activities. Adhering to and enforcement of company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures. Communicating with the other members of the team, Supervisors, Managers, clients, vendors, and other applicable officers.
