Job Summary:

We are currently hiring a Lab Technician to join our Optical Operations team in London, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for following established procedures in a laboratory environment, operating specialized equipment, performing quality checks, and supporting the day-to-day production of optical products.

The successful candidate must be able to work rotating shifts on a 2-week rotational basis, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM and Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 12:00 Midnight.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate lab machinery and optical equipment according to standard procedures.
  • Inspect products during and after processing to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Follow proper handling, packaging, and documentation practices for products.
  • Perform regular cleaning and basic maintenance of machines and workspaces.
  • Track and scan production jobs to monitor progress and completion.
  • Organize tasks by priority to meet production and shipping deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
  • Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support general lab activities as needed to ensure smooth workflow.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent required.
  • Experience working in a lab, manufacturing, or production environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of optical theory and lens production is an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
