We are looking for an energetic optometric assistant who can work efficiently and at the same time provide a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Our team values a positive work environment and we are seeking an individual with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Hours: 3-4 days per week

Start date: December 2024

Experience: 1+ years or completion of the Optometric Assistant course

Primary responsibilities:
  • Diagnostic imaging such as retinal photography and OCT scanning
  • Testing for colour vision, stereopsis, lensometry, etc.
  • Preparation of exam rooms
  • Placing and receiving contact lens retail orders
  • Maintaining the contact lens trial kit and training room
  • Training patients to insert, remove and care for contact lenses
  • Reception duties such as scheduling appointments and recalling patients for eye health exams
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members, suppliers, and the general public
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Passionate about providing compassionate care to patients of all ages
  • Excellent at multitasking
  • Enjoys learning and sharing knowledge with team members and patients
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows 10, email, LibreOffice or Microsoft Office)
