The Opportunity

Our Product organization bridges municipal expertise with innovative technology, connecting customer success, sales, and product development to deliver tools tailored to the realities of municipal governance.
We are seeking a Municipal Finance Expert to join our Product team. Your deep understanding of municipal finance will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our ERP software. You will leverage your expertise to identify challenges municipalities face, collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will translate real-world municipal challenges into actionable software solutions that improve efficiency, transparency, and decision-making for municipalities across Canada.
This opportunity is based at Catalis’ office in Old Strathcona (Edmonton, Alberta). Our new office includes an innovative vibe, stand-up desks for all staff, foosball games, an active social committee, fitness challenges, an office dog, lounge areas, and more
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with municipal stakeholders, customers, and development teams to define and prioritize ERP features that address real-world financial challenges.
- Leverage your municipal finance expertise to collect, prioritize, and refine recommendations for new product features and enhancements, ensuring alignment with market trends and client needs.
- Translate municipal operations into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to guide the development of impactful solutions.
- Drive continuous product improvement by gathering client feedback, managing enhancements, and resolving issues to optimize usability and satisfaction.
- Serve as the link between municipal finance practices and technology, ensuring software solutions are grounded in real-world applications.
- Work closely with customer success and sales teams to understand municipal client requirements and ensure ERP solutions align with their goals.
- Develop and deliver presentations and workshops tailored to municipal clients, showcasing how our ERP Cloud solution simplifies financial management.
- Partner with prospective and current customers to identify specific pain points and design tailored solutions that improve financial workflows.
- Lead technical workshops and proofs of concept to validate the effectiveness of proposed solutions.
- Support sales, customer success, and support teams by providing expert advice on municipal finance and technical solutions.
- Assist in preparing RFPs, RFIs, and other materials that demonstrate our expertise in municipal finance and ERP solutions.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in municipal governance and financial technology to ensure Catalis remains a leader in the field.
- Identify opportunities for product partnerships and integrations that enhance the value of Catalis offerings for municipal clients.
What You Will Need to Succeed
- University degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related disciplines
- 2 to 5 years of proven experience in a technical sales or product management role; experience with Accounting/ERP Software is required.
- Strong automation and information technology skills with deep software and SaaS knowledge
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate the needs and problems of prospective customers
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of sales processes and methodologies.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple and possibly competing commitments at the same time
- Excellent proven customer-facing and presentation skills for complex technical solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work alone or with development staff to develop and present demo applications.
