Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems in both construction and operational settings. You will troubleshoot instrumentation issues, perform routine maintenance tasks, and ensure systems operate efficiently. Collaborating closely with project managers and other trades, you will help ensure that all work meets industry standards and is completed on time. Your expertise will play a key role in minimizing downtime and optimizing the performance of instrumentation systems across various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems, ensuring all equipment is operating correctly.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and resolve issues related to instrumentation, systems, and equipment.
  • Calibration and Testing: Perform calibration, testing, and commissioning of instruments and control systems to ensure they are operating within specified parameters.
  • Blueprint and Schematic Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine instrumentation layouts and configuration requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate work and meet project timelines.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of work performed, including calibration, testing, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Certified Instrumentation Technician (or equivalent) is required. Consideration will be given to 3rd and 4th-year apprentices.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance and industrial work.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting instrumentation diagrams and schematics.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting abilities with the capability to diagnose and resolve instrumentation-related issues.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and in confined spaces as required.
