Maintenance Improvement Manager

Job Responsibilities
- Lean Manufacturing Methodologies: Champion and promote VPO tools to achieve KPI targets and close gaps in performance (root cause analysis, GAP analysis, MCRS meeting schedules and action logs, 5-Why’s, PDCA and SDCA cycles, etc.); VPO Maintenance Pillar and Maintenance KPI Owner.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to maximize the lifespan of equipment and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Oversee the troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of machinery and equipment, ensuring swift resolution of issues to maintain production schedules.
- Equipment & Systems Monitoring: Ensure all plant machinery, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems are regularly inspected and maintained for peak operational performance.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage the maintenance department’s budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively. Track expenses and strive to reduce maintenance costs while maintaining high operational standards.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, etc.), ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols and guidelines. Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement and inventory management of spare parts and materials, ensuring availability while avoiding excess stock.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to drive process improvements, equipment upgrades, and the adoption of new technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance. Prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Project Management: Lead and manage maintenance-related projects, including equipment upgrades, installations, and facility improvements, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, machinery, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLCs.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of technicians. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Project Management: Experience managing maintenance projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, safety regulations, and best practices in industrial maintenance.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and PowerBI.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
