About The Work Environment

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About The Qualifications

  • Implementation and configuration of network devices
  • Monitoring network devices using monitoring software
  • Setting up Palo Alto firewall / Panorama configuration templates and device groups
  • Maintenance of all network hardware and equipment, including firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Troubleshooting network issues at Levels 1-3 (Firewall, Router, and Switch)
  • Recommending and carrying out network improvements and upgrades
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of Aruba Wireless and ClearPass
  • Providing training and support to Service Desk support staff on network issues, as well as guiding team members
  • Maintenance and implementation of Azure and AWS network environments
  • Collaboration with the application and infrastructure team to implement routing, switching, and firewall rules
  • Maintenance of Remote VPN and updating configurations based on requirements
  • Close collaboration with network/firewall, System, and Service Desk teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and changes.

About The Day-to-day

  • A college diploma or university degree in computer science or a minimum of five years of experience in a related field.
  • Two years of experience with Panorama and Palo Alto is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco devices and implementing configurations for OSPF, BGP, 802.11x, and Virtual Routing Forwarding.
  • Familiarity with Azure/AWS networking concepts and technologies.
  • Experience in switching, including configuration and troubleshooting for ARP inspection, DHCP snooping, Spanning Tree, HSRP/VRRP, etc.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) and excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, ability to self-motivate and find solutions to problems.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and execute tasks in a pressure environment.
  • Pager Duty required, 24x7 on a rotational basis.

Compensation

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $105,000 and $120,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess.
