Through Elite Global Sports, Prospects by Sports Illustrated operates SI’s youth hockey platform, delivering elite youth hockey tournaments, event management, and sports operations across North America. This is a career growth opportunity designed for someone looking to advance into a Director of Operations / Hockey Operations leadership role . The successful candidate will begin with a 3-month onboarding period as Executive Assistant to the COO , then transition into Director of Hockey Operations upon successful completion. Key Responsibilities (Hockey Operations & Event Management) Lead hockey operations for youth hockey tournaments and events Oversee sports operations, event logistics, scheduling, and staffing Manage tournament operations , officials, venues, and travel coordination Act as the primary contact for coaches, teams, referees, and partners Manage operations budgets, expense reports, and cost controls Build and improve operational processes, workflows, and systems Hire, train, and manage event staff and contractors Collaborate with marketing, media, and leadership teams on event execution Onboarding Phase (First 3 Months) Provide executive administrative support to the COO Assist with project coordination, operations planning, and documentation Gain hands-on experience in sports event operations and tournament execution Qualifications & Skills Experience in sports management, hockey operations, event operations, or project management Strong organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Experience with expense management, budgeting, and reporting Proficiency in office software, scheduling tools, and operations systems Background in youth hockey or sports organizations is a strong asset Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or Operations is a plus Why Join Prospects by Sports Illustrated Clear advancement path to Director of Hockey Operations Competitive salary growth ($55k → $65k ) Hybrid work environment in Mississauga, ON Work with a globally recognized Sports Illustrated brand Hands-on leadership role in youth sports operations and tournament management
