This role involves ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and working closely with all departments to enhance workplace safety practices.Essential Functions: Develop, implement, and maintain HSE programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with applicable legislation and company standards.Conduct regular reviews and updates to ensure compliance and effectiveness.Coordinate and deliver HSE training programs for employees, ensuring they are aware of safety procedures and practices.Maintain training records and ensure all personnel are compliant with training requirements.Oversee incident reporting and investigation processes, ensuring thorough investigations are conducted and corrective actions are implemented.Analyze incident data to identify trends and recommend improvements.Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.Prepare reports on findings and work with management to address any issues.Stay informed about relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices.Liaise with regulatory agencies as required, ensuring all documentation and reporting are completed accurately and on time.Serve as a point of contact for HSE matters and promote effective communication regarding safety initiatives and updates.Prepare and present regular reports to management on HSE performance and compliance status.Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.Conduct drills and training to ensure employees are prepared for emergency situations.Required Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a health, safety, and environmental role, preferably in a similar industry.Relevant certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) are an asset.Competencies:Strong knowledge of Canadian HSE regulations and standards.Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills.Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.Travel Requirements:Travel requirements 25-50% within Canada some travel to the states.Physical Demands:Must be able to sit up to 8 hours.Must be able to lift 50lbs.Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
