Reporting directly to the CEO as a Senior Leadership Team member, the Director of Corporate Services oversees the strategic alignment and operational efficiency of critical corporate functions. These include Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Strategy, Communications and Privacy Departments, Facilities and Maintenance, Workplace Culture, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-Racism (IDEA), Truth and Reconciliation (TRC) and risk management. The Director provides strategic guidance and operational oversight to ensure the optimization of corporate resources and infrastructure.
DUTIES:
Administrative Functions
· Attend and actively participate in Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors meetings as required.
· Develop and oversee the Corporate Administrative Reporting Framework.
Human Resources Leadership
· Possess knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.).
· Participate in Senior Leadership Team decision-making, develop policies, and negotiate with the local union.
· Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy including recruitment, succession planning, talent and performance management, and training.
· Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Workplace Culture and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Anti-Racism (IDEA)
· Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
· Implement DEI initiatives and monitor organizational culture and employee engagement.
Property/Facilities Management
· Ensure property management and health and safety plans are in place.
· Oversee facilities maintenance and optimize operational needs.
Engagement and Communication Leadership
· Develop communication strategies to enhance agency visibility and stakeholder engagement.
· Act as a spokesperson and cultivate media and community relationships.
Information Technology and Digital Strategy
· Provide strategic direction for IT systems and infrastructure.
· Ensure modernization and maintenance of technology solutions.
Privacy and Data Protection
· Establish policies to safeguard confidential information and comply with privacy legislation.
Strategic and Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Improvement (QI) Leadership
· Provide strategic direction for the Strategic Plan and Annual Operational Planning.
· Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and maintain a risk management framework.
Financial Leadership
· Oversee annual budget, financial forecasts, and reporting processes.
· Ensure financial activities meet legislative and legal requirements.
Risk Management
· Develop and oversee risk management policies and programs.
· Identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
Leadership Development
· Participate as a positive member of the Leadership Team.
· Demonstrate effective decision-making and interpersonal skills.
· Provide coaching and support to direct reports.
Other Duties as Assigned
· Undertake additional responsibilities as delegated by the CEO.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· A University Graduate Degree, Masters Level, in the following business and/or health-related disciplines (Human Resources, Masters of Business Administration).
· A relevant and recognized professional qualification or designation in Human Resources or health related discipline would be considered an asset.
· Five (5) years experience working with community mental health issues, ability to interact across multiple acculturation levels and socio-economic groups.
· Ten (10) years of working experience in roles of progressive responsibility that involve a broad range of skills, including those related to human resources management and health administration/promotion.
· Five (5) years experience working in a senior leadership capacity involving finance, budgeting, human resources, project management, partnership management and health administration/promotion.
· Experience in public or broader public sector is preferred.
· Demonstrates ability to develop and implement human resources and community engagement programs, policies and systems
· Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills
· Self-motivated, highly effective organization and analytical skills, multi-tasking, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrates strategic thinking skills in assessing the local community environment and available resources to successfully implement new and existing programs
· Good understanding of labour relations processes (Grievance processes, ERC meetings, collective bargaining), along with a philosophy towards labour relations that is aligned with that of the Agency
· Preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates
