COACH AND TRUCK MECHANIC SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize and oversee daily maintenance activities; distributes & updates preventative maintenance work orders on a weekly basis; following up on outstanding work orders.
  • Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Ability to use electronic/diagnostic equipment and to analyze vehicle/equipment problems and provide timely and cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the workshop.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used for reporting and analysis.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
  • Audit all internal and external repairs and maintenance completed on company vehicles are in accordance with all safety standards set out by MOT and Company policies.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

COACH AND TRUCK MECHANIC SUPERVISOR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid qualifications as a Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
  • Thorough working knowledge of MTO, MOE, MOL, WHMIS
  • Valid Ontario Commercial Driver License with an air brake endorsement, free of any serious offences
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or in a related field.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in an automotive or mechanical environment.
  • Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices within bus industry
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and upper management.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in the automotive industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environmental conditions.

RESPONSABILITÉS DU SUPERVISEUR DE L'ENTRAÎNEUR ET DU MÉCANICIEN DE CAMION :

  • Organiser et superviser les activités d'entretien quotidiennes; distribue et met à jour les ordres de travail d'entretien préventif sur une base hebdomadaire; faire le suivi des bons de travail en suspens.
  • S'assurer que les techniciens d'entretien sont adéquatement formés, équipés et motivés pour que le programme d'entretien puisse être exécuté de manière sécuritaire, rapide et rentable.
  • Capacité d'utiliser de l'équipement électronique ou diagnostique et d'analyser les problèmes liés aux véhicules et à l'équipement et d'effectuer des réparations et un entretien rapides et rentables.
  • Assurer le respect des protocoles de sécurité et promouvoir une culture de sécurité au sein de l'atelier.
  • Tenir des registres précis des activités d'entretien, des réparations et des pièces utilisées pour les rapports et les analyses.
  • Mettre en uvre des initiatives d'amélioration continue pour améliorer l'efficience et l'efficacité des opérations.
  • Vérifier que toutes les réparations et l'entretien internes et externes effectués sur les véhicules de l'entreprise sont conformes à toutes les normes de sécurité établies par le contrôle technique et les politiques de l'entreprise.
  • Lancer et réaliser des projets qui améliorent l'efficacité ou réduisent les coûts d'exploitation.
  • Toutes les autres tâches et responsabilités qui lui sont assignées.

QUALIFICATIONS DES ENTRAÎNEURS ET DES SUPERVISEURS DE MÉCANICIEN DE CAMION :

  • Qualifications valides en tant que technicien de camions et d'autocars (310T)
  • Connaissance pratique approfondie du MTO, MOE, MOL et du SIMDUT
  • Permis de conduire commercial valide de l'Ontario avec avenant sur les freins à air, exempt de toute infraction grave
  • Minimum de 5 ans d'expérience en tant que mécanicien diesel ou dans un domaine connexe.
  • Expérience antérieure en supervision ou en gestion dans un environnement automobile ou mécanique.
  • Expérience pratique des pratiques d'entretien préventif dans l'industrie des autobus
  • Solide connaissance des moteurs diesel, de l'hydraulique, des systèmes électriques et des composants mécaniques.
  • Maîtrise de l'utilisation d'outils et de logiciels de diagnostic pour le dépannage et la réparation.
  • Excellentes compétences en leadership et en gestion d'équipe.
  • Capacité à communiquer efficacement avec les membres de l'équipe et la haute direction.
  • Connaissance des règlements de sécurité et des normes de conformité dans l'industrie automobile.
  • Capacité de lire et d'interpréter des manuels techniques, des schémas et des diagrammes.
  • Solides compétences en résolution de problèmes et capacité à prendre des décisions sous pression.
  • Capacité à travailler selon des horaires flexibles, y compris la nuit et la fin de semaine, au besoin.
  • Capacité physique à soulever des objets lourds et à travailler dans diverses conditions environnementales.
