We’re seeking an experienced Buyer to join a growing custom fabrication manufacturer serving the automotive and heavy-duty market. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and keeping operations running smoothly.The OpportunityAs a key member of the purchasing team, you’ll support daily buying activities for fabricated components, raw materials, and production consumables. You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to manage supplier performance, ensure on-time delivery, and identify cost-saving opportunities.What You’ll DoIssue and manage purchase orders for production materials, tooling, and supplies.Source and evaluate new suppliers to improve quality, cost, and lead times.Negotiate pricing and delivery terms while maintaining strong supplier relationships.Monitor MRP data to forecast material requirements and prevent shortages.Support the Purchasing Manager with reporting, supplier audits, and cost-analysis projects.Collaborate with operations to resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues.What You Bring3–5 years of purchasing experience in automotive, heavy manufacturing, or fabrication.Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and production scheduling.Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.Ability to read blueprints and understand basic fabrication terminology.Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering (preferred).
