They offer a professional working environment with many interesting projects that will keep you engaged in your day-to-day workYour new roleWe are seeking a skilled High Voltage & Electrical Testing Technician to join the team. This role involves working alongside experienced professionals on high-voltage (HV) and substation projects, performing electrical testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of critical power systems.Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing electrical testing and commissioning of HV equipment, including:Circuit breakers (HV and 600V)TransformersSubstation componentsPower cablesConduct protection and control system testing, including:Relay programming and troubleshootingIntegration of control systems within switchgearSupport start-up and troubleshooting of electrical systems during commissioning phases.Ensure compliance with safety standards and security clearance requirements.Collaborate with team members and clients to deliver high-quality results.Occasional travel within Ontario and Quebec may be required.Significant overtime opportunities are available along with excellent benefits and a retirement package.What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with circuit breakers, transformers, substations, cables, and advanced protection and control systems:Mandatory:Red Seal 309A Electrician designation (transferable across IBEW locals)Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (minimum Reliability)Ideally, your skills will includeElectrical testing experience (NETA certification is an asset)CET designation in electrical/electronicsFamiliarity with protection and control systems, relay programming, and HV troubleshootingWhat you'll get in returnThis position offers significant overtime opportunities and travel flexibility, with 80–90% of work based in Ottawa.
