Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at Edgewood Health Network Inc. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about providing high-quality care to individuals with mental health concerns.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide individual, group, and family therapy, education, and ongoing assessment of progress to clients. They will also develop, monitor, and make recommendations for treatment and intervention plans for clients in Outpatient Services. Additionally, the Occupational Therapist will communicate with referral agencies, offer support, and guidance to clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Competently manage clients with various mental health concerns including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and substance use disorders;
  • Work therapeutically with a diverse client population through individual therapy and assessment, group therapy, or other process groups, as required;
  • Collaboratively develop treatment and care plans based on individual client needs utilizing occupational and rehabilitation focused service interventions, coordinating across broader clinical teams when appropriate;
  • Monitor client progression on recovery, identify barriers and recommend adjustments to treatment plans;
  • Delivers education sessions to clients, as well as to public audiences and external groups as needed;
  • Completes detailed documentation and charting appropriately; Prepares and completes forms, reports, and correspondence in a timely manner;
  • Participate in case conferences with team members and service partners;
  • Communicate effectively with team members and service partners within required timelines;
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and service partners;
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, maintain appropriate professional associations, and provide current documentation to the Human Resources Department;
  • Act as a resource person for practicum students and other professionals as assigned;
  • Other duties as assigned;
Requirements:
  • Registered Occupational Therapist in the province of residence; willing to register in other provinces;
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent);
  • 2+ years' experience working with clients with mental health, substance use disorders, trauma, concurrent disorders, etc.;
  • Experience working with clients on disability services, workers compensation, etc. preferred;
  • Experience supporting return to work, operational stress, disability management preferred;
  • Experience providing care in a virtual environment an asset;
  • Demonstrated commitment to client-centered care;
  • Role models excellence in client care;
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, facilitation and decision-making skills;
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health care team;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to best practice and quality improvement;
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development;
  • Bilingual (English, French) an asset;
Benefits and Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include comprehensive health and dental insurance, a 401(k) matching program, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development and growth. We also offer a defined benefit pension plan with up to a 4% employer contribution.
