We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our team at Lundy Potato Farms LTD. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of our farm equipment.
Job OverviewThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanics and experience working with agricultural equipment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with relevant post-secondary education in a related field such as agriculture or mechanical engineering.
A valid driver's license and excellent physical condition are essential, as this role requires regular travel between fields and manual labor. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is also crucial, as well as effective communication skills and attention to detail.
In terms of salary, we offer a competitive package that reflects the importance of this role in maintaining the productivity and profitability of our operations. Based on industry standards and the level of expertise required, we anticipate offering a salary in the range of $65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, diagnosing problems using computerized testing equipment and other diagnostic tools.
- Order parts and maintain inventory levels to ensure efficient repair and replacement of equipment.
- Adjust and repair or replace defective components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including documentation of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Test repaired equipment to verify proper performance and functionality.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance tasks to extend equipment lifespan and optimize performance.
This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, often under physically demanding circumstances. You should be comfortable working at heights, lifting heavy loads (up to 45 kg), and standing for extended periods.
Requirements- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as agriculture or mechanical engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience working with agricultural equipment, preferably in a similar role.
- Valid driver's license and excellent physical condition.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A competitive salary range of $65,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience.
