Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Part-Time Video Editor to join our OMNI News team. As a Video Editor, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality content for our news operation, which serves a diverse audience across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Non-linear editing of broadcast content using Grass Valley Edit System and related software for seven different languages.
  • Support editorial decisions and work collaboratively with the news team to deliver engaging content.
  • Work with 5.1 audio and ensure high-quality audio production.
  • Meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in a broadcast news environment, preferably with a focus on non-linear editing.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and emerging technology, with a creative approach to daily assignments.
  • Proficiency in non-linear editing software and knowledge of Grass Valley edit systems.
  • Understanding of 5.1 audio and ability to adapt to new broadcast workflows.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to thrive in a high-stress environment.
