About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Patient Care Assistant to join our team at UC Medical Clinic - Mill Woods. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support services.

Job Summary

The Patient Care Assistant will work under the supervision of licensed nurses to provide direct patient care and assist with various clinical and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse;
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely and with dignity;
  • Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments efficiently;
  • Maintain patients' rooms clean and tidy, making beds and ensuring a comfortable environment;
  • Manage inventory of supplies, ordering when necessary, and maintaining accurate records;
  • Transport patients between care facilities safely and on time;
  • Respond promptly to call signals to determine patients' needs and preferences.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, emphasizing the need for strong organizational and time management skills.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate as the minimum educational requirement;
  • A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role or related field.
Additional Information

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary range of $30,000 - $40,000 per year, based on location and relevant experience. The work language is English, and the work term is 30 hours per week. We require all candidates to be legally able to work in Canada and have previous experience in this field of employment.
