Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Fractional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a focus on AI to join our highly skilled and motivated team. The successful candidate will engage with the vibrant startup ecosystem of the Toronto-Waterloo corridor and potentially take on the CTO role in different startups. This contractual role carries the potential for transitioning to a full-time position in the future.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI-focused projects, including but not limited to Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, etc. They will have experience leading or managing technical teams in AI-centric startups and demonstrable experience with AI/ML models development, deployment, and management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or manage technical teams in AI-centric startups
  • Develop and deploy AI/ML models
  • Manage AI project scoping, cost estimation, and product road mapping
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in AI-focused projects
  • Experience leading or managing technical teams in AI-centric startups
  • Demonstrable experience with AI/ML models development, deployment, and management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field
  • Previous experience as a technical co-founder of an AI-based startup
  • Software development consulting or freelance experience with AI-focused startups
