Painter Specialist

Langley, Canada Standard Aero Full time

StandardAero is seeking a skilled Painter Specialist to join our team at the Langley Operations Department, Helicopter Repair Center.

This Contract (12 months) position will be based out of the Langley facility, British Columbia and will report to the Manager, Production.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn/apply their skills at refinishing Helicopter paint surfaces with unique paint schemes and graphics.

Our team is dedicated to the highest quality standards and is regarded as one of the best aircraft paint shops in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing aircraft parts required for refinishing, including sanding, plastic media blasting, cleaning, and masking.
  • Refinish surfaces by applying primer, paint, stencils, and decals.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Maintaining equipment, including paint booth, spray guns, air hoses, and performing other duties as required by the department.
  • Documenting all work accomplished in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
  • Performing work while adhering to applicable procedures and standards.
  • Applying safe work practices and using proper PPE.
  • Adhering to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/Technical school or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as an automotive/aircraft painter preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper paint preparation.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
  • Must have the ability to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
  • Must be able to see to disassemble and visually inspect.
  • Must have excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
