Bridge Inspector

The Bridge Inspector is a critical role within CN, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railway infrastructure. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough and accurate bridge inspections, identifying potential safety hazards, and providing recommendations for maintenance and repairs.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct regular bridge inspections to identify potential safety hazards and recommend maintenance and repairs
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including high-rail pick-up trucks and Snooper trucks
- Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports for bridges and other structures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance and repairs
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices for bridge inspection and maintenance
This role requires frequent travel, including extended overnight stays, and the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions. You will be required to climb at heights and exercise disciplined climbing skills. A valid driver's license with air endorsement is required, and you must be able to obtain certification in Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) and Rope-Access.
Requirements- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, such as bridge maintenance or inspection
- 5 years of experience in the railway industry
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field
- Valid driver's license with air endorsement
- Certification in CROR and Rope-Access
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Good knowledge of bridge construction and standard practices
- Personal Fall Protection and Rescue knowledge
- General Computer Skills (Excel and Word)
- Ability to learn data entry into SAP, EPI, and BCS bridge inspection database
