Bridge Inspector

The Bridge Inspector is a critical role at CN, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railway bridges. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of bridges and culverts, identifying potential issues, and developing recommendations for maintenance and repair.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct regular inspections of railway bridges and culverts to identify potential safety hazards and maintenance needs.
- Develop and implement plans for bridge maintenance and repair, ensuring compliance with CN's safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of bridge maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of bridge inspections and maintenance activities, using SAP-EPI and other asset databases.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in bridge inspection and maintenance.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field, such as bridge maintenance or inspection.
- 5 years of experience in the railroad industry, with a focus on bridges and structures.
- Experience with SAP-EPI and other asset databases.
- Associate's Degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field.
- Valid Driver's License class 3 with air endorsement, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Qualified or ability to become qualified in Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR).
- Qualified or ability to become qualified in Rope-Access.
- Ability to be certified in rescue from heights.
- Ability to be certified in confined space entry procedures and rescue.
- Follows safety procedures, information security instructions, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
- Addresses risks in a timely manner to eliminate them.
- Shares timely information within and across functions to get things done effectively.
- Deals with pressure and change by staying calm to quickly adapt to changes.
- Good knowledge of bridge construction, components, and standard practices.
- Personal Fall Protection and Rescue knowledge.
- General Computer Skills (Excel and Word).
- Good organizational computer skills in maintaining accurate electronic records.
